BFF Wrap-Up: Style, Icons & Trends Ahead
Brisbane Fashion Festival lit up the city, serving some of the seasons key looks to love!
Brisbane Fashion Festival once again set the city buzzing last month, bringing glamour, style, and a showcase of what’s to come this season. From sparkling sequins to timeless suiting on and off the runway, here’s our wrap-up of the standout moments:
What We Saw
The runway was a masterclass in mixing tradition with reinvention.

- Sequins: Glimmering dresses and separates brought drama, proof that shine is still the season’s ultimate statement.
- Classic suiting: Sharp tailoring held its ground, balancing crisp lines with soft edges for a modern update.
- Embellishments: Beading, detailing, and unexpected flourishes elevated simple silhouettes.
- Menswear textures and colour: Rich fabrics and unexpected shades gave male suiting a refreshing edge.
- Sheer layers: Transparency played a starring role, adding depth, lightness, and allure.
- Classic prints: Polka dots returned, chic and timeless.
- Traditional lace: Romantic yet versatile, lace reappeared as both demure and daring.
- Flowing silhouettes: Draped gowns and fluid shapes embraced ease and movement.
- Fringing: Swinging details reminded us that fashion is always a little more fun in motion.
Who We Loved
Brisbane style extended beyond the runway, with some of Brisbane’s fashion insiders and icons making the pavements just as stylish.

Emma Chen, Brisbane’s go-to makeup artist and trendsetter redefined androgyny, balancing a menswear linen shirt from Zara with a moody sequin skirt from Sheike and satin heels.
Taylor Kezia, Brisbane’s own street style photographer, known nationally for capturing the runway moments we all love, stepped in front of the lens herself in a full Wintergarden look combining Seed Heritage, Cue, Sheike and Nine West. Her femme suiting outfit was a fresh take on tailoring, proving she’s just as stylish off duty as she is behind the camera.

Aicha Robertson, a rising movie-and-TV girlie who turned heads with not one but two festival looks. First, she played with proportion in a voluminous mini silhouette from Sheike. Later, she showcased sequins with elegance, balancing sparkle in a refined pairing of Zara and Nine West.
Dominique Nurtsch, high-fashion aficionado Dominique was the definition of sartorial edge, pairing clashing capris with a spring trench, both from CUE, for a fearless street-style moment.

What’s Next

The festival spotlighted what’s about to dominate wardrobes: tactile textures, suiting with a twist, and sequins making their way into everyday styling. Expect to see structured tailoring softened with fluid fabrics, genderless dressing that blurs boundaries, and statement accessories leading the way.
As Brisbane’s fashion scene continues to evolve, Wintergarden remains the home of style in the city. Whether you’re hunting for that timeless suit, a sheer statement piece, or an embellished must-have, our retailers have your next fashion moment waiting.
