MOTHER’S DAY: Leticia Gaskell

Stylist, co-founder of footwear label, El Zapato and mummy to two beautiful girls, Lulu and Edie, Leticia is known for being a true fashion queen!  And her two little ones are set to follow in her footsteps with their cute matching outfits!

Being a Mum is….   An honour, demanding, purpose, master multitasker and chaos (beautiful chaos).

My favourite memory of being a Mum is… The day I became one, there is nothing more magical or raw than meeting something you have created!  Locking eyes with your special person for the first time.

Most important lesson I will teach my kids is… Kindness. I genuinely believe in the power of kindness, no matter what – always lift each other up, everyone gains from it.  Love really does conquer all.

My biggest meltdown moment while shopping with my kids…  How would I pick just one!  We have had some full blown laying on the floor action in the middle of supermarket aisles (maybe some full blown mama tantrums thrown in there too).

Story I will embarrass my kids at their 21st birthdays with… Lulu and my lipstick… the child has an unhealthy obsession of pinching these from handbags, cupboards you name it – lets just say it rarely makes it just on her lips.

My Mum fail…  WOW too many to mention, again, how do i pick one!  Let’s just say don’t leave the house without baby wipes EVER…

Being a Mum has made me grateful of my Mum because…  She has taught me everything I know, to always believe in myself, enjoy the little things, that you can in fact juggle the responsibilities of motherhood & work and to be generous with your love.  It’s only in retrospect that i am a mother myself, I see the patience and resilience she had while raising me and my brother and sister.  I appreciate her more and more as I navigate motherhood for the remarkable woman she really is.

All I want for Mother’s Day is..  To spend time with my little people (a day off from cooking would be a bonus, if you’re reading this MG).

Leticia, Edie and Lulu all wear SEED.
