At this official Brisbane Fashion Month (presented by Wintergarden) workshop, we will be learning how to create leggings with a non-industrial machine, from pattern construction, elastic and labels. You will be able to choose from over 100 fabrics from Glitter and Dance fabric company and will complete two pairs of leggings in your size. Each attendee will have their own pattern to take home.

Facilitator: Kerry Young has been sewing stretch fabrics in Brisbane for the past 30 years, having started her own costume and ice skating sewing business in Stones Corner in the 1980’s she went on to build a successful manufacturing business, which then branched out into fabric sales as well. Kerry now runs Glitter and Dance which stocks the largest range of stretch fabrics specific to the performance industry – working with industry heads like Fox TV studios on shows like X-Factor, Australia’s got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance, not to mention working with Strictly Ballroom the stage show. Kerry has sewn for most of the dance schools around QLD, and can pattern make from scratch and grade by hand. In this informative and fun session, she will take anyone from novice through to more experiences sewers on how to make your own leggings.
