I’ve just been reunited with iconic Australian brand R.M. Williams and it’s bought back such great memories. All I wanted for my 18th birthday (22 years ago!) was a pair of R M Williams boots to wear with my jeans and a button up skirt for when I would go out. They were definitely beyond my budget so a group of my friends went halves with my parents and the boots were mine. I absolutely loved them and wore them so much I had them resoled (a few times). They were worth every cent.
This year the ever-patriotic Hugh Jackman invested in R.M. Williams and the brand has been updated with some new designs. Standouts are a new women’s boot, the Adelaide, and a new men’s lace-up boot. They’ve diversified their shoe wear to include a sandal and have expanded their clothing lines adding more more shirts and women’s wear with one of my new favourites a cashmere wrap. All the women’s pieces in R M Williams are very suited to the Australian lifestyle and aesthetic and the prints are current and on trend. There are new akubra hat colours too – I particularly like the navy.
Today I’m dressed head to toe in RM Williams. I am in love with these bronze boots. These would work with everything from jeans, pants, skirts to dresses whilst being super comfortable at the same time. This leather skirt is made from the most buttery soft leather and the t-shirt fabric is equally as soft yet flattering at the same time. This t-shirt dress is the perfect shape to wear to work with a heel and also on the weekend with a sandal.
I am most impressed with R M Williams; they’re still going strong after 90 years. I will definitely be popping in when ever I am in the Wintergarden to see what’s new.
