Meet Renee Lee

Renee Lee joins the Wintergarden as a fashion commentator.   A keen observer of what’s happening on the international runway, Renee relates this to what is available in stores and provide obtainable options for every budget.

A Brisbane native, Renee has a genuine fashion pedigree. She has worked in retail, owned a boutique, founded and designed two labels and has had a successful online store.   Simply Renee loves fashion. She does not follow any particular rules of fashion although she does have a soft spot for 70’s inspired fashion with Helena Christensen her style icon.

How did you start your blog / get started in the industry?

I’ve been working in the fashion industry since in high school. I’ve worked in retail stores, owned a boutique, founded and designed two labels and run an online store. Simply I love fashion and cannot imagine my life without it. My blog is an editorial of what I have or am coveting and if you click through, how to buy. It doesn’t necessarily have to be designer peice, it could be a bargain street piece I know will work well this season. I follow runway shows, trawl through fashion magazines and love retail. My friends often ask my advice and my husband says I have a master-class in shopping so it’s nice to share.

What is your ultimate fashion must have, the piece you would save from a fire?

Saint Laurent Iconic Le Smoking Jacket and matching Tube Trouser.

What was your best fashion bargain?

A vintage Lanvin dress I purchased from Resurrection in New York.

Your most outlandish purchase

A Victoria Beckham dress.

Your go to outfit:

Casual weekend? Golden Goose trainers, drop crotch pants, t-shirt and knit
Night out? Celine pumps and Celine / Gucci dress
Power outfit? Saint Laurent Le Smoking Suit

Something about yourself we might be surprised to find out?

I studied Physical Education teaching at Uni and worked part-time for Cue. My love for fashion took over and I have never used my degree.

What do you love most about being a fashion blogger?

My obsession is my job.

If you could meet anyone living or dead who would it be?

Princess Dianna
