How to dress casual

Warmer weather is just around the corner and it’s time to get your pins out! To kick-start your spring wardrobe, I’ve put together an outfit showing you how simple it is to dress ‘casual chic’. With the right pieces, you can make something look fabulous! Don’t be scared to experiment with different brands and garments that you wouldn’t otherwise purchase. Make sure you’re also looking for clothes that you can wear over and over again – regardless of the season! Investment pieces don’t always mean expensive, it also means you’re going to get a lot of wear out of them! I always know I’m going to find what I need in Wintergarden. Their various retailers allow me to channel trends while sticking to my own sense of style. Read on to see how you can dress ‘casual chic’ just by following a few simple steps!

Since the start of spring is still a bit chilly, I decided to put something together that was going to keep me warm on top. I chose this simple white waffle knit from French Connection – it’s super warm and is easy to coordinate with other garments. Having a white knit in your wardrobe will break up the dull darker colours that we’re so prone to picking up in winter. Having this piece will give you that fresh look when you’re feeling a little dull.

As soon as the warm weather hits, I reach for shorts. Jeans are well and good until you’re sweating up a storm under the Queensland sun! Since we’re already warm on top, I decided to go for these fun spot shorts from Seed Heritage. As soon as I saw them, I loved them! I love having a pair of neutral-coloured shorts in my wardrobe. It makes putting outfits together simple and these were just too cute to not include! Since there’s no pattern on the knit, the spots make up for the vacant space on top.

Now, I’m an advocate for heels. I would conquer the world in them if I could! In saying that, when dressing ‘casual chic’, I try to tone it down with some comfortable heels which aren’t going to look over-the-top. I decided to reach for these block heels from Seed Heritage. The heel isn’t too high, they’re VERY comfortable and the design is gorgeous! Having a pair of nude or tan shoes is going to do you wonders. Every girl should have numerous amounts of neutral options – they will always save an outfit crisis! If you’re a bit of a Bambi in heels, reach for some cute flats instead! It’s all about dressing to be comfortable while incorporating current trends.

Now you’ve got your outfit sorted, go out and flaunt it!
